Online game Van Gogh Museum wins silver European Design Award

On 26 May 2012 Camille’s Diorama, an online game for young children, won a silver European Design Award in Helsinki. This Van Gogh Museum game allows children to create a digital diorama, using animations inspired by Van Gogh’s paintings. Camille Roulin, a boy whose portrait Van Gogh painted several times in 1888, plays a key role in the diorama. One portrait of Camille is on display in the Van Gogh Museum. The museum’s ambition with Camille’s diorama is to make itself accessible beyond its walls. The online game introduces young children to Van Gogh’s works and also enables them to experiment with 2D and 3D perspective.
