Still Life with Meadow Flowers and Roses proves a Van Gogh painting after all

The Kröller-Müller Museum discovered that it had another Van Gogh in its possession after lengthy research proved that Still Life with Meadow Flowers and Roses was a genuine work by the artist. The canvas’ unusual dimensions, anomalous signature and other factors had caused the painting’s authenticity to be questioned from the moment it joined the collection in 1974. In 2003 the work had been dismissed as a Van Gogh and subsequently inventoried as ‘artist: anonymous’.
